Hello and Happy Soon to be Holidays!

We are rapidly approaching the end of an eventful 2020.  As we get closer to the end of the year, there are a few items we wanted to make you aware of.

Winter Break:  To allow for our staff members to fully recharge prior to the start of the upcoming tax season, our firm will be closed starting Thursday, December 24, 2020 and re-opening Monday January 4, 2021.  If you are a payroll client with a pay period that has a deadline during that time, please reach out to the staff member you have been working with and we will coordinate accordingly.

Tax Organizers:  Tax organizers for individual and trust tax returns will be mailed out in early January 2021.  If you do not receive yours by January 22, please let us know.

Personal & Trust 4th Quarter Estimates:  If you traditionally have made quarterly estimated tax payments, the 4th quarter estimated tax payments for both federal and Oregon are due on January 19, 2021.  Please refer to your tax letter included with your 2019 tax returns for amounts due.  If you have any questions, please give us a call or e-mail.

Corporate 4th Quarter Estimates:  If you traditionally have made quarterly estimated tax payments, the 4th quarter estimated tax payments for both federal and Oregon are due on December 15, 2020.  Please refer to your tax letter included with your 2019 tax returns for amounts due.  If you have any questions, please give us a call or e-mail.

Oregon Corporate Activity Tax (CAT):  Oregon CAT is a new tax being implemented for tax year 2020.  If your business has gross receipts of over $1,000,000, you may be subject to this tax.  If you have not already, please reach out to us with any questions.  Estimated tax payments for this tax are due January 19, 2021.

4th Quarter Tax Planning: If you would like tax planning performed for 2020’s taxes, please reach out to us prior to December 4, 2020 to allow for us to prepare estimates and projections.
